Tickets?

Friday, June 29th, 2007

My birthday is approaching, and I am excited! However, I have to start thinking about my boyfriend’s birthday.  His is only nine days after mine.  Last year, I tried to wait and see what he got me before I bought him anything….that didn’t work well.  I fell in a crunch for time.  This year, I am planning ahead.  I looking into the def leppard tour schedule to see if there is anything within a reasonable distance from here.  I’m pretty sure he would like this year’s gift!

Invite Only

Friday, June 29th, 2007

I received an invitation today to go to a bachelorette party.  It’s funny that I got this from a friend I haven’t heard from in three years.  In fact, I didn’t even know she was getting married.  It’s so weird that all of my friends are “grown-ups” now.  This particular friend will be graduating from college this year and getting married in the summer.  They’re already looking for a realtor for their first home.  I don’t feel like an adult. However, now that I think about it, I’m completely independent.  It’s funny how these things just happen without anyone realizing it.

Hot, Hot, Hot!

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Actually, quite the contrary today.  It’s been raining all week here.  Now that it has finally stopped, it is pretty cool.  I mean it is cool for a summer day.  On a cool friday like this, I wish I had an   outdoor fireplace for tonight.  I would invite a bunch of friends over and just chill.  I love cookouts, bonfires, and anything of that nature.  Tonight I’ll probably end up staying in and watching TV.  It’s very original, I know.

DNA

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

I was reading an article the other day at the library (while I was “working”) about the possibility for life on other planets.  It was a fascinating article.  While scientist have been looking for water, there may be something else.  There might be two different elements that can support life. However, if this is true the life would be very exotic to us and the very  DNA would be unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.

Step One

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

After watching the movie mentioned in a previous post, I’ve began to think about drug rehabilitation a lot.  Although, I’ve never gone through this sort of thing myself, I have seen other people’s struggles.  It is definitely a difficult journey.  However, the people that actually succeed feel relief and rebuilt confidence in themselves.  I’ve seen people try and fail, then repeat, but also successful people.  I was told that going to get help was the first and hardest part.  No one wants to admit it is out of their control. All I know is that it would seem easier to fall if you knew someone was there to help you back up.

Drug Abuse…

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

I was watching a movie the other night with Sandra Bullock.  She is one of my favorite actresses so I thought it would be good.  Let’s just say, I’m not really of fan of this movie.  I think it was called 28 Days or something of that nature.  The woman in the movie that she played was an alcoholic that gets sent to this drug rehab place for 28 days.  In the end, I didn’t feel like anything was really resolved.  Although, I’m more of a happy ending type person to begin with.

Partially Furnished

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

Some people are lucky enough to get apartments that are already partially furnished.  Not me.  This place was empty.  I thought I had a lot of stuff until I moved into my new place.  It turns out, I had too much for a dorm room, but not enough for an apartment.  I still need a lot of home furniture. My mother was wonderful enough to find a couch, chair, and loveseat for me.  Now I need to find a table and chairs, end-tables, and a coffee table.  At least, those are the next priority on my list of things to get.  Seems like other than garage sales (where everything is old and beat up) online has had the lowest costs.  We’ll see what other great deals I can find…

Snack Time!

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

I’ll tell you, summers are my worst time for snacking.  All the women I work with bring in deserts, chips, and etc.  I feel like I’m eating all day (which I probably am).  If I’m not careful, it’s all going to catch with me.  Right now, I’m looking into Hoodia It’s a proven appetite suppressant. You can lower your calorie intake by tricking your brain into feeling full. That’s the key to what makes it work.  I know if I felt full, I wouldn’t eat all the ice cream that I do. ; )

Visit from the Stork!

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

I have a co-worker whose daughter has been trying to have a kid for quite a while now.  Well, she came into work this last week and told us that her daughter will be having triplets!  I hope they are prepared for what’s to come.  Here they were setting up a room for one and now it has to hold three.  Can you imagine?  Everything will have to be bought in triplicate.  Three times the kids bedding, the clothing, the food.  I hope they are good at finding quality things at low prices!

New York!!

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

I am very jealous of my co-worker.  She is gone this week to New York, New York!  I’m excited for her, but also wish it was me.  She says there is so much to do there that it is unbelievable.  All she has to do is see a new york ticket broker and then she’s seeing an amazing show.  I think everyone should go there at least once.  I’m working on it, and sure that it’ll be worth it.
