Hoodia Patch

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

We all know that as we get older, our metabolism slows down.  This means that for someone like me, my eating habits are going to catch up to me.  Unfortunately, dieting doesn’t work for a lot of people.  They try to eat less, but just feel hungry all the time.  It’s hard to lose weight if you’re hungry most of the time.  There is a new product called the hoodia patch.  It sends a signal to the brain that makes you feel full.  This allows you to eat less, but to still feel full.  You’ll eat less and still feel energized.  Finally, something that doesn’t make you feel like you’re starving yourself.

Irony

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

I just recently payed off my car.  It took me four years, but it’s all mine now.  Unfortunately, I have bad luck with cars.  My car was perfectly fine until I completely payed it off.  Ofcourse.  The engine is making weird sounds, the struts are going out, and the paint is wearing off.  I’m going to have to go to a  body shop supplies store to get my car cleaned up and running smoothly again.  I want to keep this car for as long as I can.  I’m going to do everything I can to keep it from getting worse.

Shop ’til you Drop

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

My current roommate is a shopaholic.  She spends every penny of her pay check as soon as she gets it.  Then she wonders why she doesn’t have any money.  When you drive out to the mall twice a week, you spend money on gas and all the stuff you buy.  With the way gas prices are now, it just doesn’t seem logical to waste time and money driving all over the place.  She could save a lot of money by just shopping from an online clothing store.  You don’t have to leave home, and the clothes are usually cheaper online than in stores anyway.  I’m always up for clothes on sale!!

Football Mania

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

I’m not usually a football fan, but for some reason I’ve been watching more and more recently.  It started at my days last week, then my boyfriend got into it, and continued when I went to see my brother.  My ex-roommate said she is going to get some   Cowboys tickets as soon as she can.  I imagine if you enjoy watching it on tv, it’s ten times better in person.  The action is more exciting and no commercials.  What more could you ask for?

Birthday No No’s

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

This is a blog to all the married men out there.  I was recently informed by a married friend that her husband got her a scrub brush for her birthday.  I will say it was not the only gift.  However, it should not have been a gift at all.  Who wants a cleaning product for their birthday?  If you’re a married man, in a bind because you’re not sure what to get your wife, jewelry is almost always a good choice.  You could look at necklaces, gold bracelets, earings, etc. Gift certificates to day spas, a romantic get away, or even just a book or new cd she might want are all good options.  If you find yourself looking at cleaning products, you might want to get to know your wife a little better.  Just a thought…

It’s a Zoo in Here

I was just discussing getting a gift for my niece and nephew before I fly out there.  Rumor has it that I can’t go wrong with animal masks.  As long as I get them animals they like, I’m in the clear.  I think they might actually like a gift like that.  I remember a few years ago, my twin cousins were in a stage where they pretended to be puppies.  They would play that game for hours on end.  I’ll have to think about it…

Spoilers

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

I will admit, I know nothing of cars.  Today, I discovered what car spoilers are.  I’m still not really sure if they do anything or are just there for looks.  However, I am told that they can make a car go from blah to awesome.  Unfortunately, my car is so sad that even if I found an amazing spoiler, my car would remain “uncool,” or so I’m told.  It’s okay though.  As long as my car gets me where I need to go, I’m happy.  Maybe someday, I can get a better car that is in style.  : P

Mother in training

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

I have a friend that loves to play the mommy role.  People either love her or hate her.  There really isn’t an in between.  She carries a huge purse with just about everything in it.  She has basically anything from kleenex to a stapler in there.  I wouldn’t be surprised if she starts to carry medical supplies in that luggage sized purse.  I would describe her as the female version of a boyscout.   “Always prepared”  I suppose, I can’t complain though.  She’s gotten me out of a crisis before, and I’m sure she’ll do it again.

Toys = Fun

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

Is it sad that I love playing with children’s toys?  I’m going to see my niece and nephew this week and really excited.  Little kids are so much fun.  They are always surprising me with their creativity and intelligence.  I also think all the new toys that teach kids are amazing.  It’s the perfect combo of fun and learning.  I’m debating whether or not I should bring them a gift when I see them….

First Home

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

I’ve been discussing my future a lot with Alex lately.  He’s convinced me that when buying my first house, I should get one that I can see myself living in forever.  It makes more sense to get the house you want to spend the rest of your life in instead of buying a little house and upgrading later.  You’ll pay off the better home before you would the other two.  There are a lot of luxury homes I wouldn’t mind having.  Financially, it makes more sense and is more appealing to the eye.
