Bad News Bears

Friday, March 28th, 2008

I have a friend that just went to audition to be in some orchestra (he is a music something major..so a big deal to him). Well the airlines don’t really take care of bags checked.  When he got back, his bass was broken!!  After that, I found Rimowa luggage.  They have high quality, aluminum suitcases.  So, when the airlines are throwing bags on top of yours, your stuff won’t be crushed!

Rust Free

Friday, March 28th, 2008

I don’t know much about trucks and cars, but I know how to keep things lasting a long time.  I know that I need to get an oil change every 3,000 miles and such.  I also know that cars and trucks can get scratches easily and then rust.  Rust is Bad for those who don’t know.  Things like truck bed liners are important to keeping things nice.  Anything you put in the back of your truck bed has the potential to scratch it up.  Keep it looking great for a long time.

Hoodia

Friday, March 28th, 2008

At first, I was sure how I felt about the new hoodia products.  But I keep hearing more and more good things about it.  It helps control your hunger and lose weight quicker.  They even did a segment about it on 6o Minutes.  It’s a natural plant found in South Africa and is growing as one of the most well-known appetite suppressants every day.

Vacay!

Friday, March 28th, 2008

I would like to stay at a resort sometime, not just a cheap hotel, but somewhere nice.  Someday, I want to go a vacation where money isn’t an issue.  I think I might pick somewhere like one of the Branson resorts.  The last time I went to Branson was with my dad and sister.  It was one of my favorite vacations that I’ve ever been on.  We went to a show, to the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, to a water park, and lots of other things.  It was great!

Insurance

Friday, March 28th, 2008

I’m in an intro to insurance course this semester, and I just had a presentation.  I found out some interesting facts.  Did you know that 47 million Americans have no form of health insurance?  I think that’s terrible.  People need term life insurance.  Sure you can pay out of pocket for a regular check up, but anything else is just too expensive now.  Get it now so that you don’t regret it later.  My mom waited until her job’s insurance kicked in a while back.  She had to go to the hospital one day for an in-and-out procedure.  It cost $2000!  She didn’t have that much money to begin with.  She had to learn her lesson the hard way.

Counting Sheep

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

I just got back from visiting my dad.  It was fun, but man do I hate sleeping on his blow up mattress.  My kneck and back are killing me.  While I love spending time with my dad, I still couldn’t wait to get back home to my memory foam mattress.  I didn’t realize how much better sleep I get until I slept somewhere else.

Car Insurance

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

I just recently bought a car.  This is the first car that I can honestly call my own.  My first car was a hand-me-down from my mother that I still had to finish paying off.  However, this car will be in my name and everything.  On the down side, I never realized how much the insurance was going to cost me.  I highly recommend shopping around for auto insurance quotes.  My first quote was over $200!! That is as much as my car payment.  There was no way I could afford it.  By the time I got done looking around, I got it down to half as much.  Luckily, it won’t be that much forever.  As soon as I turn 21, it will go down more.  But until then, I’m glad that I’m not paying the $200 I thought I had to!

Lung Problems

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

My grandfather is sick.  It seems like everyone on my mother’s side of the family has some sort of lung trouble.  He and his sister are pretty sick.  I’m not sure what she has, but my grandfather has some sort of scar tissue built up in his lungs that is slowly destroying his lungs.  I think someone else on his side actually died of mesothelioma.  It’s a cancer in the lungs caused by asbestos.  They didn’t know much back then, but now they know so much more.  If you have it, it’s important to get help because there is a lot they can do now.

Staying Healthy

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

My boyfriend cracks me up.  Everytime we go out to eat if he sees broccoli, he feels it neccessary to tell me that I need to eat them.  They are loaded with antioxidants.  Antioxidants can help keep you healthy, keep you from aging as quickly, and even help prevent some cancers.  Maybe now you know why your mother tried to hard to get you to eat your broccoli.  The good news is that broccoli is not the only way to get those antioxidants now.

Apartment Finder

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

I think I might have found somewhere to live this summer which is exciting.  I found something interesting about the apartments though.  They actually have tankless water heaters.  I hadn’t heard of that before.  It provides endless hot water using gas, propane, and electric tankless water heaters.  It saves space and reduces costs.  Good to know when you have to pay utilities.
