Leaky Faucet?

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

So…I went to get a dog treat out from under the sink today and found a pile of mush.  Our sink was leaking!  I think the faucets in this building all need to be revamped.  If they let me pick one out, I could find something stylish and quality.  But alas, I cannot.  Instead, I have to wait for the building managers to do it.  Then I have to wait for them to be installed.  And, I’ll probably have to wait until Alex has a day off because the person installing it is probably afraid of our dog.  Oh well…

It’s an epidemic!

I think it’s interesting that after something happens to you, you seem to see it everywhere.  It’s nowhere, then everywhere.  For me, I just got engaged.  Now it feels like everyone I know is engaged.  My friend, my boss, random people I meet.  And, the only thing that the girls seem to have on their mind is quick weight loss.  We want to look Amazing on the big day!  What can I say? Girls will be girls!

Perfect Timing

My boss got two Festina watches from his wife this week.  Apparently, she couldn’t decide which one to get him and so she got both.  I think that put him in a good mood this week.  It must have because he extended my internship by two and a half weeks.  I’m excited for two more pay checks.  And, I still get a week off before school starts up again.  This is what we call a win, win, win situation.

Baby Pics

I was really bored at work today and so, I got onto my brother’s blog site for his son.  My nephew is sooo cute.  Today, I just went through all the pictures.  Amy, my brother’s wife, has really great taste.  At least, I’m assuming she is the one that picked the crib bedding and decorations out.  I love how, even when I’m supposed to be working, if anyone catches me, they stop and want to see the pictures too.  ; )

Still waiting…

I miss my old landlord…. This apartment is great, but it takes forever for anything to get done.  The blinds broke in the kitchen the first week we were here.  They still have yet to be fixed.  First, they came with blinds but didn’t put them up because they were scared of our dog.  We tried to put them up, but they were the wrong size for the window.  Now, we are still waiting for more blinds.  I really just want to go out and buy some curtains to put up.  It would be quicker and look better.

The Long Haul

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

I’ve been looking at some tips for brides on how to look great on their wedding day recently. There seem to be a lot of crazy schemes out there.  But, I don’t want to lose weight really fast just to gain it back the second I take a bite of my wedding cake.  I want something that helps me for the long haul.  I’ve been looking at  Leptitrex.  It’s supposed to help you lose weight, keep it off, detox your body, and even help with acne.  I think that sounds great all around!

New Times

It’s funny how parents have such a gap in technology compared to their kids.  My step mom JUST started looking at MP3 players. I couldn’t believe it. At first, she thought they were silly and just for teenagers.  She thinks they are the coolest thing in the world now.  I think she might get one so she has some music to listen to on her morning walks.  She couldn’t believe that I recommended this a year ago, and I couldn’t believe she was still lugging around a portable cd player.

Camera memory…

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

You know, I spent all this money on a “great” camera and made the mistake of assuming things.  I assumed that for that much money it would come with memory.  I was wrong.  It came with practically no memory.  What’s the point of having a camera at a wedding or party if you have to keep deleting the picture you took to take more?  Now I have to go out and buy a SD card.  You better believe I am getting a good one with more than enough memory.

The Hunt Begins

So, I’ve been talking to my fiance a lot about my internship and how much I like it.  I think I might have accidentally convinced him to get a different job.  He’s doing job searches and posting his resume.  I guess he decided he wanted more out of his job.  He wants more opportunities for advancement and a challenge.  I don’t think there is anything wrong with wanting a job like that.  I just hope that he uses all of his resources before it gets to the point where he is frustrated at looking. You know?

I see you!

I’ve decided that I am one of the most unobservant people in the world!  My own sister got new eyeglasses and I didn’t even notice.  When she pointed it out, after I failed to notice, I realized she looked really good in them.  She hadn’t gotten new glasses in a long time and needed a much different prescription.  The eye doctor said it wouldn’t have been so dramatic if she hadn’t waited so long to get a check up.  I will say that she looked good though.  The frames fit her face nicely and they were practical.  They were the kind that transitioned to sunglasses when you go outside.  Pretty cool.
