Buy, Sell, or Rent

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Have you ever heard of Condo Hotels?  I hadn’t, but apparently, it’s a big deal.  You can buy, sell, or rent the investment property you’ve always wanted to.  There are properties all of the country and even abroad. Go on that vacation, sell your property, or buy that piece of land you dreamed of.  It’s your choice.

Future in NC?

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

I’ve been doing some web surfing and stumbled across Wilmington NC real estate.  I only have two semesters left before I graduate.  I’m trying to decide where I want to go after that.  The only thing I know for sure is that I don’t want to stay around here.  Fresh out of college, I won’t be able to afford much, but there were a lot of great houses on there.  It was easy to check out what they have and what would actually work for me.

But a Dream…

My mom has always talked about getting into commercial real estate.  I don’t really understand why she didn’t follow through with it.  We bought an antebellum house that we were going to fix up and sell.  Well, we did that, but instead of doing it again, we built a house.  If she continued with it, we might be as well off as my landlord.  He is now renting out over ten different houses.  He works three days a week and his wife doesn’t work at all.  Must be nice!

Condo living at it’s Best

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

My step mom and dad have lived in a condo for eighteen years.  They’ve gotten to the age where they hate taking care of the yard and the exterior of the property.  After moving into the condo, they loved the convience of having someone taking care of the lawns, the trash, the snow removal, and the exterior of the property for them. When they get up in the morning the snow has already been shoveled.  If they have a problem they just call the condo association.  And when they are away on vacation, there are always many neighbors eyes keeping an eye on their property.  If you’re interested in  condos for sale, I suggest you take a look.

It’s hot, hot, hot!!

While my mom is just trying to get by, my dad is already contemplating his retirement.  He is looking into Arizona luxury real estate.  I can’t say I blame him.  It’s a nice, warm climate.  However, it’s not as humid as the Midwest.  He and I really enjoy miniature golf, but when it starts to get hot, we just can’t stand dripping in sweat.  However, when we went on vacation in Arizona, we were able to play miniature golf, go rock climbing, and everything.  It was great.  I can see why he wants to move there.

Selling/Buying?

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

I think when you’re selling a house it’s important to find the right real estate agent that’s for you.  My mom is finding this out the hard way.  She is trying to sell her house to get one that is smaller and more economical for her life style.  However, the one that she has now is not advertising her house in the Sunday paper.  In our town, this is a big seller.  Find an agent that is willing to work with you and for you.  This way you’ll be happy and they’ll be able to get your house quick and easy.

First Home

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

I’ve been discussing my future a lot with Alex lately.  He’s convinced me that when buying my first house, I should get one that I can see myself living in forever.  It makes more sense to get the house you want to spend the rest of your life in instead of buying a little house and upgrading later.  You’ll pay off the better home before you would the other two.  There are a lot of luxury homes I wouldn’t mind having.  Financially, it makes more sense and is more appealing to the eye.
