In addition to the last blog, I think there is a lot of pressure on actresses to be under a certain weight all the time. My sister has struggled with her weight her whole life. But, I will say I’m proud of her in the fact that she doesn’t let it get her down, and she doesn’t resort to extreme measure (eating disorders and such). She’s looking into Phentermine. It’s safe and has actually been around for quite some time. I didn’t know this but it’s an appetite suppressant that was approved by the FDA back in 1959. It’s still around, so I’m thinking it must have worked for somebody. : )

So, my sister is the drama queen of the family. She even graduated from college with a bachelor’s in Theatre. Now she is a struggling actress just like a lot of other actresses. I think one of the hardest things about being an actress is always keeping up with your looks. My sister in particular had a tough time with acne when she was younger and is paying for it now. I keep telling her to look into acne scar treatment. I think it will add to her appeal as an actress and give her more confidence in herself.

I’m realizing now that I might have over booked my schedule a bit. I just turned 21 this summer and need to go in to get my license renewed. However, I’m finding that I don’t have the time to go in during the day while the office is open. Also, for the learning community that I’m living in, I need to log 10 service hours a semester. This isn’t normally a problem. I’m a member of a service fraternity on campus and get tons of hours for that. The problem is that I need to get these hours from a specific organization that this community goes through. Right now, I’m tutoring for my university, for the class I TA for, and to two private parties. On top of that, I’m supposed to tutor for this learning community. Unfortunately, the times overlap. I’m not sure what I’m going to do. The others are payed tutoring and I need the money. But, to live here, I also need to volunteer. Ideas?

My friend is going to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks. I’m realizing I haven’t had a vacation in a long time and it’s kind of depressing. Especially with Dan rubbing it in my face. I’m stressing out about finishing this last semester and what I’m going to do afterwards. He’s like, “While you’re in class studying or taking a test, I’ll be in a hotel in las vegas having fun!” Thanks Dan. Thanks.

Here’s what I’m thinking…when I graduate I’m probably going to get nothing or a bunch of house things from my family. I’ve already got a lot of things since I haven’t lived at home since my freshman year. So, I’ll probably be set for a while. I think that my family should band together and look into Disney cruises! What’s a better way to say congratulations on graduating sum cum laude in three and a half years by yourself? I don’t think there is one!

So, I’m graduating in December. It’s kind of crazy if you think about it. I have less than a semester left of school. Possibly forever if I decide not to go to grad school. Everyone keeps asking me what I want to do or where I’m going to go after I graduate. The answer is, I don’t know. Part of me wants to be around family. The other part wants to do something completely spontaneous. Anyone know how much New York movers cost? ; P

My dad surprised me. He’s been trying really hard to take care of himself recently. I guess it’s finally hit him that he’s over fifty now. He can’t do or eat all the things he used to. He told me recently that he’s going to get a colon cleanse and his doctor recommended it. It’s his way of getting rid of all the junk in his body and starting over.

I went back to my high school the other day to visit one of my friends that is student teaching there. It was really weird to go back after so long. I will say that if there is one thing that I recommend for high schoolers, it’s acne treatment. I remember some of my own friends walking down the halls lacking confidence because of their acne. I don’t really notice that in college anymore. It’s a completely different atmosphere.

Unfortunately, I have to have four jobs on campus to pay for school. However, I am fortunate to have the ones I do. I mean, I like all of them…so that’s good. It’s also when I see what others have to deal with that I know I’m lucky. One of the circulation associates at the library is about five foot tall. She has a desk that is made for someone about 5′8″. Needless to say, she has tendonitis from trying to type at this desk all day. I think she needs to ask for better office furniture.

Truth be told, my dad is a pretty Big guy. Unfortunately, he also likes to eat sweets (which I’ve also inherited). Everyone thought that he would definitely get diabetes with his size and sugar habits. However, the biggest worry he has right now is his blood pressure. He needs to get a blood pressure monitor. I have to admit, I’ll feel a little better when he does.
